18A - Create a Customer Avatar

My prototypical customer:

What kind of hobbies do they have? 

My customer really enjoys the outdoors spending time with nature. They are very adventurous and enjoy activities like camping, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, etc. 
What kind of car do they tend to have?
They drive a black Jeep which is great for carrying any equipment or supplies for when they go out to do activities.
What TV shows do they watch?
With their love for the outdoors they enjoy watching shows like Survivor as well as channels like Animal Planet and National Geographic.
Do they have children? Are any of them adopted?
They do not have any children yet but they definitely want in the future since starting a family is a great aspiration of theirs.
What are their favorite books, and who are their favorite politicians?
They prefer to read books that are based on real stories or researching on some interesting topic. Their favorite politicians include those who are trying hard to develop environmental solutions and are making an effort to help the planet.
How old are they? How old do they feel?
Their age ranges from mid 20s to mid 30s. They feel as old as they are.
What do they look like?
She has dark brown mid length hair with fair skin and brown eyes. She has a slim to athletic build and is of average height.
What's their style?
They are very laid back and prefer a comfy yet at times bohemian style. They like clothes that have earthy tones and like to accessorize with little touches of jewelry.
Do they own any pets?
Yes, they own a golden retriever and an american shorthair cat.
Do I have anything in common with my customer avatar? Do I think it is a coincidence and why.
I do believe that I have some things in common with my customer avatar. Like her, I also have pets which are two dogs: a chihuahua mix and a yorkie terrier. I also definitely have the aspiration of starting a family in the future and having children of my own. Although I am not as adventurous with my actions, I do enjoy watching shows like Survivor to see the places the go, the challenges they have to face, and their survival skills. I do not think it is a coincidence that I share these things with my avatar since I would want my customer to be able to relate to me and vice versa. We would be able to get along while both fighting for a cause we strongly believe in.

    Hey Isabella,
    First off, I think your customer avatar looks so cool. I personally wanted to make a cool avatar look yours, but after seeing yours I am so impressed. Additionally, you do a great job introducing your avatar and explaining your commonalities to your avatar. You seem to have a really good grasp on what your target market would consist of and I think you have created a very successful and helpful business.

    Hey Isabella,

    I like how specific you went with your avatar's traits and personality as it really helps to pinpoint your target customer. I think it's cool how many commonalities you and your avatar share because, like you said, it will help your customers relate to you and your product/service on a personal level. You really seem driven towards seeing your idea through to success and creating value for your customers.

    Hi Isabella!
    You're pretty spot on with your customer avatar I would say. Especially the part you mentioned about how this target group likes to spend time in nature in their free time. Those who are very passionate about animals are the ones who spend lots of time with them and can understand them/realize what they go through. For me, I fit your avatar in some aspects (like enjoying nature, watching tv shows like national geographic/animal planet, would read lots of nature-type of books, and that I own a retriever. Great job!

I interviewed 5 more of my friends all of whom do not own any pets. However, they do love animals even though they do not regularly interact with any. Who: There are many people who do not own pets and still enjoy their company but would not take action towards helping them. What: This need could differ from the need of wanting to get justice over a personal experience in which your own pet or an animal you grew fond of had been abused. 30A - Final Reflection

1) This class overall has been an amazing experience and completely surpassed any expectations I had originally. The fun moments in this class were whenever I was able to create something myself such as the customer avatar. I dreaded the cupcakes since it was always only a few questions which could be on anything as well the elevator pitches since I don't like public speaking or recording myself on camera. 2) The experience that I'll definitely remember years later is creating my business idea for the opportunity that I identified. I never considered being an entrepreneur and didn't think I had the makings to become one either. But, with the design of this course and its assignments, I was able to learn a lot about myself and what I am capable of.
