15A - Figuring Out Buying Behavior No. 2

1)    I interviewed three other of my friends that also all happen to have pets so they are still in my segment.
2)    As I conducted my interviews I found out that price is a big factor. With the idea of having a service that will animals, they believe that it should be a sort of non-profit in which I could accept donations and sponsors. This is due to the fact that they think that my service should not have to be paid for since it should be an automatic thing to respect animals to begin with. If animals weren’t being abused this service wouldn’t need to exist so why should we have to pay for the cruel behavior of others? Unfortunately, this is the reality and why there is a need for this kind of service to be created. They also believe that the quality should be as high as possible. The animals should be getting the best care they can possibly get and have high priority in their rehabilitation, release, or adoption process depending on their situation.
3)    Hearing what everyone had to say has made me think that this business idea is more ideal for a non-profit. I think I would make it accessible online and physical locations in order to handle emergency situations that would require work in real time rather than something for a later date that can be done on a website. Since they like the non-profit idea, they think it’s best to give donations online for convenience.
4)    What mattered most to the people I interviewed was the animals’ wellbeing. That is the main goal and objective of the business so it should be the top priority. Since it is for such a great cause they think that many people would consider it a good idea to get involved in when it comes to donations or investment.
5)    Overall, all three of the individuals I interviewed deeply care about animals. They think it is time for someone to finally step up a create a business such as the one that I have suggested. They think that it is such a great cause and that people would be willing to pay to help towards it. They also want to ensure the best care for all the animals that are taken in.
6)    This segment’s alternate evaluation is that this should not be a service that one simply pays instead it should be a non-profit that accepts donations and/or sponsors that will help it run in order to prioritize the wellbeing on the animals by providing the best quality of care. Their purchase decision is most likely going to take place online where it will be very easy and convenient. Their post-purchase evaluation is that this is a very great cause and something that very much needs more attention. They believe that what matters most is that the animals get what they need in order to for them to live happier lives.

  2. Hi Isabella!

The beauty of interviewing people is that you find new information that is vital for your business. After hearing from these people then realizing that this business idea should be a nonprofit, it may now be easier for you to think of ways to make this feasible. This unfortunately may be hard to find people to give enough donations necessary to actually make a different, but still is possible if you use proper market segmentation and reach out to the people in the community who are animal lovers!
