30A - Final Reflection

Image
1) This class overall has been an amazing experience and completely surpassed any expectations I had originally. The fun moments in this class were whenever I was able to create something myself such as the customer avatar. I dreaded the cupcakes since it was always only a few questions which could be on anything as well the elevator pitches since I don't like public speaking or recording myself on camera. 2) The experience that I'll definitely remember years later is creating my business idea for the opportunity that I identified. I never considered being an entrepreneur and didn't think I had the makings to become one either. But, with the design of this course and its assignments, I was able to learn a lot about myself and what I am capable of. I am most proud of my finished idea for Paws of Love. 3) I believe that at the end of this class I have developed a new mindset. I never thought like an entrepreneur and believe I'm starting to do so now. Even from just c...

29A - Venture Concept No. 2

1.   Venture Concept Revised Opportunity: My opportunity is for animals, both domestic and wild, who need help towards their wellbeing whether it be an injury, sickness, finding a new home, or being released back to where they belong. My opportunity also works towards finding more justice for animal abuse by getting the government to make more regulations. Forces that create this opportunity are people who abuse animals which one of the reasons why my kind or organization would need to exist. Another force that creates this opportunity is the government with their insufficient legislation towards animal rights. Geographically, this market would start out locally here in Miami. After it become more successful and expansion is possible, it would geographically grow to multiple parts of the United States. Demographically, this market is anyone who cares and wants to help animals no matter the age, sex, or race. What’s important is their beliefs and the actions they intend...

28A - Your Exit Strategy

1) My exit strategy is to move on from my venture and look for other opportunities but still support it and maintain it. Whenever I am away from my venture I would want people that I trust and can count on in place in order to keep the business going. 2) I selected this exit strategy because it is a cause near and dear to me that I don't want to part with and if my business is successful I would want to see it continue to grow and make a difference. 3) My exit strategy did not influence my other decisions that I've made in my concept since I did not really think about it until now so it was never a factor. I identified this opportunity because it is something I am passionate about and I wanted to create something that can bring about change and help animals in need.

27A - Reading Reflection No. 3

Steve Jobs, By: Walter Isaacson 1)  What surprised me the most about Jobs was that one of the influencing factors towards naming the company "Apple" was the fact that he was on an apple farm the same day he had to decide.  What I most admire about Jobs is his RDF or reality distortion field. Whatever he imagined or wanted to happen, he made it happen no matter what to the point where people thought he was bending reality. Its amazing how influential he was and how hard he worked for his vision. What I least admire about Jobs is the addiction he had with LSD. I'm not an advocate for using drugs even though this was his decision and his lifestyle at the time. Jobs faced failure when he got fired from his own company. He was able to move on from by working at other companies where he continued to succeed which were NeXT and Pixar. 2) This entrepreneur exhibits leadership, results orientation, problem solving, technical skills, creativity, and innovation. 3)...

26A - Celebrating Failure

1) I know this may get more personal than what I would have liked but Pryor literally said to pour my soul out so that's what I'm going to do. This semester has been very tough for me. I was taking Finance again now over the summer because I had to withdraw last semester because I was going to fail the class. I told myself that I would get through this and that I would retake it and pass. Unfortunately, even though I studied more and was still using Study Edge as a resource (which is honestly the only the way to pass the class if you ask me) I managed to perform worse and did not getting passing exam grades on exam 1 and 2 again. I have lost count for the amount of times that I have cried over this class. I've never struggled so much in my entire life over one class. I reached a point where I even considered not only leaving UF but also dropping out of school entirely because this would be the only the class in the way of getting my diploma. It frustrates me how this class...

25A - What's Next?

Existing Market 1.      What’s next for me in terms of services for my venture is to create an app for my business. It would be used as a sort of 911 service where people can contact Paws of Love and pin their location to where an animal in need may be along with instructions on how to help and/or engage with the animal on sight. It can also be used to request for Paws of Love to come to your house if your pet is in need of assistance and you cannot leave. 2.      Interviewees: ·        Krystal – Krystal thinks that making a YouTube channel would be very beneficial to my cause. She thinks that’s it’s a quick and easy platform that could be used to reach more people. She thinks my idea of the app is cool since a lot of people use technology all the time and its more convenient than having to physically go somewhere to get the help you need. ·        Daniel – Daniel thought that ma...
